Piano Weave
From a piano performance to an interactive practice session in four steps
Paste a link to a piano video (for example from YouTube), choose an audio or video file from your phone, or record your own playing with the microphone.
The Piano Transcription Server extracts the audio and runs the Transkun neural model, which detects every note, its timing and its velocity, and turns them into a MIDI file.
The MIDI song lands in your library on your device. Turn on cloud sync to back your songs up to your own Google Drive and keep them on all your devices.
Play along on the falling-notes piano roll with the Grand Piano sound. Slow it down, loop hard passages, transpose it, or let Wait Mode pause until you play the right notes. Practicing works offline.
How transcription on the official server is paid for
When transcription is paid, one credit covers one minute of audio. The app always shows the cost before you start.
You may get free credits, for example free minutes every month. The app itself is free and has no ads.
Credits are bought through Google Play and added right away. If a transcription fails, its credits are returned.
The three parts that make Piano Weave work
Built with Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. It works in portrait and landscape, and includes the piano roll, the library, Google sign-in, Google Play Billing and Google Drive sync.
An open-source FastAPI service with Redis job queues and GPU workers running Transkun. Files are deleted automatically shortly after each job finishes.
View on GitHub →FluidSynth with a bundled high-quality SoundFont, connected through a native bridge, for low-latency, realistic acoustic piano playback.
